Join Rachael Sokolowski and me, Rad Drew, on Cape Cod for a cornucopia of photographic opportunities. The off-season is a great time to be on the Cape. The pace is slow and tourists away, leaving us to explore.
Co-Leader Rachael Sokolowski
Once again, I'll be collaborating with my friend, wonderful photographer, and 30+ year Cape Cod resident, Rachael Sokolowski. This will mark our fourth workshop together. Rachael will put her local knowledge to work finding new locations, and navigating tide tables, as well as providing photo support in the field and classroom.
We'll photograph scenic locations – lighthouses, fish piers, harbors, and tidal flats – from Chatham to P-Town!

There's nothing like walking out on the tidal flats in various locations on the Cape. The tide recedes, leaving rippled sand, golden sea grasses, and tide pools often teaming with sea life. One can walk out for miles among the sand patterns and pools, and when the sun and clouds produce a brilliant sky, it's a real treat!
And, there's no shortage of lighthouses!
Spend the week exploring the Cape with your "big" Camera or iPhone (or both, as many of us do!). And I'll have my infrared camera in my bag, too. If you've never tried infrared, I invite you to bring an extra card and pop it in my camera to experience the thrill of seeing in infrared. If you're a veteran IR photographer, you'll have plenty of opportunities for working with infrared.
And I'll share how to create wonderful infrared images with your iPhone, too. iPhone infrared is something we've been doing since the iPhone 11 Pro Max and it's one more way to see and photograph the world around us while enjoying the portability of the iPhone.
We Support iPhone Photography!
While I love my "big" cameras, mostly Fuji's, it's no secret that I am a huge fan of the iPhone, and that's Rachael's primary camera. The iPhone has been a prominent tool in my bag since 2009 and Rachael has been recognized for both her iPhone photos and videos made with the iPhone. We welcome your use of the iPhone and are prepared to share insights on how to record and process wonderful photos with this device that's always with us.
Today, many photographers are opting for the portability of the iPhone over heavier gear and, with today's iPhones, we are able to create in RAW, produce 48mp files, create hand-held long exposures, and photograph landscapes, macro, portraits, night photography, and infrared, all with the same camera – the iPhone! To do all these types of photography with a big camera would require a camera bag full of lenses and filters.
In addition to coaching in the field, we'll have learning sessions to share our processing methods for both the iPhone and "big" cameras.
