Purchase Items on Amazon and Send to a Trusted Friend in Miami

Some things that are difficult or expensive to obtain in Cuba can be purchased easily in the United States.

Vivian has a trusted friend in Miami who can receive packages for her and periodically make sure those supplies reach Cuba. This makes it possible to purchase specific items from Amazon or another U.S. online retailer and have them delivered to Miami rather than trying to ship them directly to Cuba.

This option is especially useful when there is a particular item the family needs that isn’t readily available through SuperMarket23.

What Kinds of Things Can Be Sent?

This can be a good option for clothing, shoes, small electronics, phone accessories, household items, school supplies, personal-care products, rechargeable fans and lights, power banks, and other difficult-to-find necessities.

Larger or more expensive items may also be possible, but please check with me first. Size, weight, transportation and the ability to get the item from Miami to Cuba all have to be considered.

How to do it

1. Please contact me before purchasing anything. I can confirm whether the item is currently needed and whether it can reasonably be transported to Cuba.

2. Once we have confirmed the item, I will provide the Miami shipping address and tell you exactly how the package should be addressed.

3. Purchase the item through Amazon or another U.S. online retailer and have it shipped directly to the Miami address I provide.

4. Let me know when the order has been placed and, if possible, send me the expected delivery date or tracking information.

5. Vivian’s trusted friend in Miami will receive the package and coordinate getting it to Cuba.

Why Contact Me First?

Getting an Amazon package to Miami is the easy part. Getting it from Miami to Cuba requires coordination.

The person receiving the packages has limited space, and transportation to Cuba has to be arranged. I also stay in regular contact with Vivian and can make sure that what is being purchased is something the family actually needs.

Please don’t send anything to the Miami address without checking with me first.
