Send a Gift Card with SuperMarket23

Another very useful option is to send a SuperMarket23 gift card.

This gives the recipient the flexibility to choose the groceries and supplies they need most, based on what is available at the time.

Instead of selecting the products yourself, you purchase the gift card and send the recipient the code. They can then use that credit to place their own order through SuperMarket23.

SuperMarket23 currently offers gift cards in $50, $100, and $150 amounts. The gift cards do not expire.

How to do it

1. Go to https://www.supermarket23.com/en/

2. Log into your SuperMarket23 account. If you don’t already have an account, create one.

3. Once you are logged in, look for Gift Cards in the account/login menu.

4. Select the amount you would like to send: $50, $100, or $150.

5. Enter the requested information, including your name and email address.

6. Review the information and complete your purchase.

7. After SuperMarket23 processes the purchase, you will receive an email containing a unique gift-card code.

8. Send the gift-card code to the recipient. WhatsApp is probably the easiest way to do this. Simply copy the code from the SuperMarket23 email and send it in a WhatsApp message. You can also send the code by email if that is more convenient.

Getting the Code to the Recipient

If you already communicate with the person through WhatsApp, simply copy the gift-card code from the SuperMarket23 email and paste it into a WhatsApp message.

If you are helping one of the families listed on this website and do not already have a WhatsApp connection with them, please contact me. I am in regular communication with them and can make sure the code reaches the appropriate person.

You can also send the code by email if you already have the recipient’s email address.

Why I Like This Option

A gift card gives the recipient something that can be especially valuable in Cuba: choice.

Rather than my guessing what a family needs, they can look at what SuperMarket23 has available at that particular time and decide for themselves whether they most need food, personal-care products, household supplies, or something else.

It also allows them to wait and use the credit when something particularly useful becomes available.

A Few Tips

The person receiving the gift card will need access to SuperMarket23 and an account in order to redeem the code and place an order.

SuperMarket23 sends the gift-card code to you by email. You can then forward the email or simply copy and send the code.

As with regular SuperMarket23 orders, the selection of available products changes frequently.
