As a Last Resort, Send Money to Me

The options described on the other pages are usually the best ways to help because they allow you to send groceries, phone service, gift cards, cash, or other assistance more directly.

There may occasionally be a situation, however, when none of those options works well for a particular need.

In that case, as a last resort, you may send money to me and I will use it to make the purchase or provide the specific assistance we have discussed.

I do not want to become an unnecessary middleman, so please use this option only after contacting me first.

How to do it

1. Contact me and tell me what you would like to help with.

2. I will confirm whether sending the money to me is the best option for that particular situation.

3. If it is, I will provide the payment information privately.

4. Once I receive the funds, I will use them for the specific purpose we have agreed upon.

Why This Is a Last Resort

Whenever possible, I prefer that people use one of the more direct methods described elsewhere on this site.

Those methods are simpler, reduce the number of people involved, and often allow you to complete the transaction yourself.

But Cuba can be complicated, and sometimes a particular need does not fit neatly into one of those options. This gives us a way to deal with those situations when necessary.

Please do not send money to me without contacting me first.

I want to be certain that we have agreed on what the funds are for and that this really is the best way to accomplish it.
